Spleen 17 - Shi Dou

“ Food Drain” “Food’s Cavity””Food Hole” (refers to the action of transferring Ying or nourishing Qi upwards to the Lungs - diaphram entry point)

Oblique 0.3-0.5”, or moxa - Avoid Artery deep - some sources say needling is contraindicated


* Major Point to Tonify Spleen - moxa to increase Zhong Qi, abdominal pain, ascites, gastritis, intestines sound like thunder, intermittent fever of Spleen

* Sends Qi to the Upper Jiao - asthma with excess Phlegm, sensation of fullness and pain in chest and hypochondria, intercostal neuralgia, Lung Deficiency caused by Spleen, moxa to send Qi to Lung, pain in Liver channel, chest ribs and limbs heavy, diaphragmatic pain, pulmonary congestion


* Clears Obstructions in the Channels - releases m. Serratus anterior spasm causing pain in costals, under breast, medial scapula, and medial arm and palm, retention of urine
